ANYONE considering purchasing a block at Woolshed Grove - the residential land development on the site of the Australian Woolshed - is being urged to register their interest now.
While the 62 homesites will not go on sale for another couple of months, BTS Properties " who are developing the site " have launched a web site and toll-free phone number to allow people to indicate their interest.
Sam Sciacca, Director of BTS Properties, said Woolshed Grove had attracted significant interest over recent months - particularly from locals.
"We have received a phenomenal response since announcing our intention to transform the site into a quality residential development," he said.
"Its proximity to the city, public transport and schools have made the land very attractive, especially with families.
"With plans almost finalised, we’re now in a position to talk with people who are keen to learn more and potentially buy at Woolshed Grove.
"With interest so high, people who register early will get first option to buy."
The nine hectare site represents one of the largest residential land releases within a 16 km radius of the Brisbane CBD in recent years.
Woolshed Grove is proposing to offer 62 homesites ranging in size from 410 to 1000 sqm. Almost half the site will remain parkland or bushland.
Some relics from its days as an Australian-themed tourist attraction will be retained and integrated into streetscaping and community areas.
Those structures not being retained have already been relocated, with the Steiner School at Samford amongst those to find new uses for the old buildings.
The site was named by Alderley resident, Susan Marshall, following a competition in North-West News.
Expressions of interest may be lodged by visiting www.woolshedgrove.com.au or calling Woolshed Grove's sales director on 1800 725 131.
