THE earth is moving in Ferny Grove as construction starts on the Woolshed Grove development. Woolshed Grove sales director Sergio Giavon expects the estate to be ready for housing work by the middle of this year.
"We've had a very strong response since we began accepting expressions of interest in August last year," Mr Giavon said.
"Now that we have council approval to proceed, we expect a good portion of these to convert to sales."
The 9ha parcel of land, formerly home to the iconic Australian Woolshed, will become a 62-block upmarket estate. Mr Giavon said the blocks would range from 440sq m to 1002sq m and prices would range between $320,000 and $395,000.
"The location is very special. It's a bushland environment, five minutes to shopping centres and a short walk to the train station.
"It will be an exclusive upmarket estate with a strict building covenant."
Mr Giavon said the building covenant details would be released soon and blocks would be for sale this month.
"Almost half the site is going to be dedicated parklands with a recreation area. "Hundreds of people have expressed an interest in the project and local people have known something was going in there for a while."
